In this series, I’m documenting my experiences with the Bamu Lab X2D so far. I’m organizing the entries by operating hours and date, noting what has been done and what needs to be done over time.
22.08.2026: 1000 operating hours
After about 1,000 hours, the filament had worked its way through the AMS hose. I cut the hose and am continuing to use it for now, even though it’s shorter.
01.09.2026: ca. 1100 operating hours
I need to add something here—I don’t remember exactly when it was, but it was about 1,100 hours of printer use. The date is just a guess.
I replaced the hose with a new one that came with the printer, since I couldn’t cut the old one any shorter and the problem kept coming back.
13.09.2026: 1206 operating hours
Unfortunately, I don’t have a video of this. In my case, the PTFE tube leading to the main extruder was cut through at the tube clamp. The hose clamp has several metal claws that gradually work their way through the hose as the extruder moves. Unfortunately, in my case, the first 3 mm of hose that were inside the clamp didn’t come out.
I took a screw and screwed it into the hose. Then I had to press down on the PTFE clamp and use pliers to remove the piece. I had to use more force than I would have liked in this situation, but I managed to get it out. Instead of replacing the entire hose, I cut off a piece about 5 mm long for now—let’s see how it turns out.
